Spiderman Loft Weave

The Spiderman Loft Weave is an indoor, full-strength net loft located in Bellingham Washington. The Tree Weaves team designed this net loft to serve as a lounge, hang out area, elevated chill spot, reading nook, and computer/video game zone for the whole family. The clients wanted the net to be Red and Blue, and combined the colors in web style that turned out to look fairly Spiderman-esque in the end.

The net is already connected to a loft that is part of the house, so the easiest way on is to climb up the ladder that was built for the loft and then just walk right onto the net. However, we did make an alternate way up for those feeling a bit more adventurous, which is a draping diamond-shaped tube ladder hanging from a portal in the corner. The draping ladder we created isn’t exactly easy to climb, but it isn’t hard either. The first time up it it may seem like a bit of a puzzle, but after you climb it a few times, you get the hang of it and it becomes very easy. The cool thing about this ladder is that it doubles as a yoga hammock, stretching and inversion toy, for those with playful bodies.

We had a 2x12 baseboard installed and painted around the perimeter of where the net was going to go before we arrived, and then connected the perimeter of our net to the U-Bolts we installed in that board. All in all this net is extremely strong and structurally sound. The shots where you can see our rope extended from the bolt with a blue webbing sling was an area we intentionally rigged in a way where part of the net could be lowered and re-attached without destroying the entire net, if need be.
